on the way to tijuana
I took this photo while I was on the trolley in San Diego. My friends and I spent the entire week in San Diego discussing the possiblity of traveling to Tijuana, Mexico for the day. We never ended up going, but I figured since today is Cinco de Mayo I would post a picture that reminds me the most of Mexico, considering that I have never been there.
sleeping in philadelphia x2
As I said in an earlier post, I walked around for about 15 minutes in Philadelphia photographing people sleeping on the streets. I really enjoy the light in this shot and the fountain in the backround.
sleeping in philadelphia
I went to Philadelphia this past weekend for a SPJ conference. On one of the nights, I walked around with my 70-200 shooting for about 15 minutes. I got around 15 pictures of people sleeping on the street or, in this case, the grass. This is one of my favorites in the series.

san diego loves the 70-200mm
I spent the last day of my trip in San Diego walking the beach with my 70-200mm and few other lenses. It was by far the best day I had on my trip.
when you have nothing else
I have taken more than 350 photographs with my iPhone since I bought it 2 months ago. Usually the photos are for fun or to document something I would like to remember later. I realize the quality isn’t the best, but when you need the shot and you have nothing else, the iPhone must do.
While traveling in San Diego this past weekend, I came across a situation where I felt I absolutely needed the shot. The man sitting in front of me on the trolley had a face that I wanted to remember.
As it turns out, after talking with him, he told me that he had just been let out of prison the day before after being incarcerated for more than 8 years. After realizing he had absolutely no idea what my iPhone was or that tt could take a picture, I got the shot I wanted.
Sometimes, like in this situation, even though I know the iPhone won’t produce an award-winning photograph, I just want to get the shot to remember the face that I was so intrigued by.
I felt uncomfortable asking him why he was imprisoned, but I did ask him how it feels to be free again. He answered by reaching out and showing me his trembeling hand.
spot news in san diego
I stumbled across this bird fight while walking the street of San Diego. Construction workers were trying to pry the birds apart and failing miserably.
I am in San Diego for the 25th Annual ACP National College Journalism Convention. So far my friends and I have had a great time attending the conference as well as enjoying San Diego.
Here is a picture of us enjoying…
maine at night
During my recent trip to Maine I decided to go out at 2am and photograph whatever I could find. I managed to get a few images that I liked. The town I was driving in is pretty much abandoned during the winter, so I hustled around getting whatever I could without the cops harassing me for being suspicious.
The spotlight over the shed caused the snow ontop of the shed to really get blown out. I tried to recover what I could but oh well, I still enjoy the image.
I am not particularly sure what caused me to photograph this gas station but for some reason it really intrigued me. I am not 100% happy with the image but I think that I have looked at it too much and that in time I will like it more.
