spot news in san diego
I stumbled across this bird fight while walking the street of San Diego. Construction workers were trying to pry the birds apart and failing miserably.
I am in San Diego for the 25th Annual ACP National College Journalism Convention. So far my friends and I have had a great time attending the conference as well as enjoying San Diego.
Here is a picture of us enjoying…
happy birthday to my brother
Even though it’s late in the day, I wanted to let everyone know that it’s my brother Nat’s birthday! When I started to think about what I could get him, I realized that I couldn’t give him anything near as special as the gift he gave my two years ago when my nephew Mason was born. I care about Mason more than anyone else in the world.
Since the day he was born I have been photographing him. He has essentially been my biggest photography project to date. My little muse, Mason, makes it very easy to take a good photograph.
Erin and Nat are expecting another baby in May, and I plan on documenting her little life just as much as I have Mason.
Nat makes me feel like I can do anything I want in photography as long as I continue to strive to be the best, and I am forever indebted to him for all the talks he has had with me over the years. Happy Birthday Nat.

scientology protestors
*I AM NOT AFFILIATED WITH THIS GROUP AND WHAT THEY PROTEST. I JUST TOOK PICTURE OF SOME KIDS WITH MASKS.*
Every second Saturday of each month, protesters assemble a block away from my front door to protest the Chuch of Scientology. This past Saturday I grabbed my 70-200 and went down to see what all the commotion was about.
This photo is one of the first 5 shots that I took. They were unsure of who I was, so as you can see the protestors in the back are straining their necks to get a better look at me. Soon after the photograph was taken, the group as a whole ran at me and starting asking who I was affailiated with. After they realize I was just a kid with a camera they relaxed and continued with their protest.
This guy was suspicious of who I was and why I was photographing. I had to reassure him multiple times that I was just taking pictures for my own reasons and maybe for the newspaper or my blog. After he relaxed I took this shot.
Something about people in masks creeps me out. I plan on photographing them each month. Next time I think they will stop posing for me and questions my motives.
